Police Seek Info After Pedestrian Hit in SW Sydney

Police are appealing for information after a pedestrian was seriously injured in Sydney's south west.

About 8.30pm yesterday (Sunday 13 October 2024), emergency services were called to Smithfield Road, Greenfield Park, following reports a pedestrian had been struck by a car.

On arrival, officers attached to Fairfield City Police Area Command were told the car did not stop after the crash, and left the scene prior to arrival of emergency services.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 27-year-old woman before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition.

Police closed Smithfield Road in both directions and established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.
