Police are appealing for information following a police pursuit in the Illawarra.
About 3.00pm yesterday (Tuesday 23 July 2024), police attached to the Southern Operation Support Group were patrolling in Koonawarra when they spotted a white van on Gilba Road, believed to be stolen from Gold Coast airport.
Police activated warning lights and the driver failed to stop.
A pursuit was initiated, and continued along Lakeside drive and Fowlers road, Koonawarra before it was terminated due to safety concerns.
A short time later, police received reports a white van struck a boat parked on Cordeaux Road Figtree before driving off and also struck a car on Central Avenue, Unanderra before driving off. No one was injured.
The search continued with assistance from POL Air, Lake Illawarra Proactive Crime Team, Lake Illawarra Highway Patrol and Raptor Highway Patrol, however the car couldn't be located.
Police are appealing for anyone with mobile phone footage or information about a white Mitsubishi Express with Queensland number plates 547GE3 to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
