Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a woman was knocked unconscious while jogging near Nitmiluk Gorge yesterday evening.
The 28-year-old woman was jogging between Nitmiluk and Gorge Road, Katherine about 6:00pm, when she suffered injuries causing her to become unconscious.
The foreign national, who is working in the NT, regained consciousness and managed to reach the Nitmiluk Visitor Centre where she was assisted by staff and police were then contacted.
The woman had suffered a laceration to her head and further injuries and was conveyed to Katherine Hospital for treatment before being released.
She has since spoken with detectives from the Northern Investigations Section who are investigating the cause of her injuries.
Police are urging people who were in the area of Gorge Road and Nitmiluk between 4:00pm and 8:00pm last night to contact police on 131 444 and quote reference NTP2400132309, or if anyone has information about the incident to come forward.
