Police seek information after armed robbery - Riverina

Police are investigating after the armed robbery of a service station in the state's Riverina region overnight.

About 11.20pm (Wednesday 31 August 2022), a man - armed with a firearm - entered a service station on Illabo Road, Junee, and threatened the employee, demanding cash.

After not being able to open the cash register, the armed man stole it and fled on foot.

The employee was not physically injured, and officers attached to Riverina Police District were notified.

A crime scene was established and has been forensically examined.

Investigators would like to speak to a man, described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 180cm-185cm tall with a solid build and wearing all black clothing and a face mask.

As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have CCTV footage from nearby streets or dashcam footage from Knight and Queen Streets between 11pm and 11.30pm to come forward and call Wagga Wagga Police on 6922 2599 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
