Police Seek Information After Assault - North Albury

Police are appealing for public assistance after two people were allegedly assaulted in state's south.

Just after 8.40pm yesterday (Thursday 12 September 2024), emergency services were called to North Street, North Albury, following reports of an assault.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District were told two people – a man and a woman, both aged 19, were allegedly assaulted by two men armed with machetes and a woman, before the trio drove off in a black Ford sedan.

The man and woman were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene for facial and hand injuries before being taken to Albury Base Hospital.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.

It's believed the people are known to each other.

Police are appealing for assistance to identify the driver and passengers of a black Ford sedan seen in the area at the time, as they believe they may be able to assist with inquiries.

The car has a damaged passenger side mirror and NSW registration EZY09L.
