Police Seek Information After Crash - St Ives

Police are appealing for information after a woman was hit by a bus yesterday.

About 9.15pm yesterday (Tuesday 4 February 2025), emergency services were called to the intersection of Mona Vale Road and Memorial Avenue, St Ives, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Kuring-gai Police Area Command attended and found a pedestrian had been hit by a bus.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 40-year-old woman at the scene before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

The bus driver, a 54-year-old man, was arrested before being taken to the hospital for a mandatory testing.

Upon release, the man was taken to Hornsby Police Station where he assisted police with inquiries and released a short time later pending further inquiries.

A crime scene has been established and officers from Crash Investigation Unit have commenced an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.
