Police seek information after elderly woman assaulted, car stolen during break-in at Albury

Police are appealing for information after a woman was assaulted during a break-in at South Albury today.

About 3.30am (Monday 6 June 2022), a woman, aged 75, was asleep in her Hume Street home when she was awoken by the sound of a window breaking.

The woman was confronted by a man who placed a pillow and doona over her head. When the woman got out of bed, she was pushed to the floor and left under a doona.

A second man was heard in the home and the pair stole the woman's car keys and fled in her vehicle – a white Toyota Camry with NSW registration plates CTN-43P.

The woman was not seriously injured.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District were notified and have commenced an investigation.
