Police Seek Information After Fire - Tweed/Byron

Detectives are appealing for information following a fire near Tweed Heads last week.

About 2.45pm on Friday 6 September 2024, emergency services were called to Gumnut Grove, Banora Point, following reports of a structure fire.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze; however, two garages and a vehicle were destroyed. No injuries were reported.

Officers attached to Tweed/Byron Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Subsequent inquiries suggest several witnesses have footage of the incident that might assist investigators.

Police are urging anyone with footage of the incident to contact Tweed Heads Detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
