Police seek information after pedestrian hit by vehicle at Bankstown

Police are appealing for information after a fail to stop collision which left a teenage boy in hospital in Sydney's south-west yesterday.

About 4pm (Friday 12 August 2022), a teenage boy had alighted from a bus and was crossing the southbound lanes on Chapel Road South, Bankstown, when he was hit by a car.

The teenager – aged 15 – was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to a children's hospital for treatment to leg and pelvic injuries.

The vehicle failed to stop and render assistance.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Are Command established a crime scene and have commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The vehicle has been described as a grey sedan.

As investigations continue, police are appealing for anyone who may have dashcam footage from Chapel Road South or who may have witnessed the incident to contact police.
