Police are appealing for public assistance after a man was allegedly stabbed in Surry Hills yesterday.
About 10.25pm (Thursday 13 April 2023), emergency services were called to Devonshire Street, Surry Hills, following reports of a stabbing.
On arrival, officers were told two men – who were not known to each other – had been involved in an argument, before one allegedly stabbed the other with a pair of scissors.
A 28-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics, before being taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers attached to Surry Hills Police Are Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
As inquiries continue, police are appealing to identify a man who may be able to assist. He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, of thin build and wearing a fluorescent orange jumper.
