Police seek information after woman hit in chest with projectile at Wellington

Police are appealing for information after a woman was hit in the chest with a projectile in the state's Orana region.

About 4.30pm yesterday (Sunday 15 November 2020), a 69-year-old woman was driving on Thornton Street at Wellington when a projectile flew through her window and hit her chest.

The woman drove to a nearby address and found her chest to be bruised as a result. Her family attended Thornton Street and located a pink object on the roadway.

Officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District attended and seized the projectile for forensic examination.

Police have commenced inquiries and believe the projectile may have originated from a park on Simpson Street.
