Northern Territory Police are investigating an assault in Coconut Grove overnight.
A resident in a unit complex in Litchfield Court was awoken by a woman's screams around 3am. The resident went outside and interrupted an assault in progress. The offender ran off, leaving behind a young woman who was visibly distressed, and reported she had been assaulted by a man who was not known to her.
Police have been investigating the incident today and are reviewing CCTV footage from the area. Anyone who witnessed this incident or has information, including CCTV or dash-cam footage is asked to contact Police. Please call 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, and quote reference 9877757.
