Police Seek Information On Crime Series In Darwin

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a crime series across the Darwin area on Thursday evening.

Around 9:00pm, police received reports that a series of businesses had been unlawfully entered before having vehicles stolen from parking spaces.

One vehicle that was stolen from Darwin Airport was driven to another business on Bombing Road, Winnellie where the alleged offenders entered the building and damaged several vehicles.

Over the course of the crime series seven vehicles were stolen from multiple businesses throughout Darwin.

Fifteen vehicles were reported to be damaged at Darwin Airport which is believed to be linked to the same offenders.

Strike Force Trident have since recovered five of the vehicles with two still remaining outstanding.

Detectives initiated a pursuit of a Silver Toyota Hilux with Queensland registration 019YQC, which came to a stop in the vicinity of Mitchell Creek on the Stuart Highway before the driver fled the scene with three youths remaining inside the vehicle.

Police apprehended the youths aged 11, 15 and 16.

The driver remains outstanding.

Investigations are ongoing.
