Northern Territory Police are investigating a death that occurred in Wanguri early this morning.
Around 1:05am, Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a woman was unconscious and not breathing. She had allegedly been observed in the company of a group of people, sitting behind a shopping complex on Wanguri Place.
Police and St John Ambulance attended and located a woman unconscious with an apparent head injury.
St John began resuscitation attempts on the 53-year-old woman however, she was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A crime scene was declared, and Major Crime Detectives are investigating.
At this stage the death is being treated as suspicious.
