Police are appealing for public assistance following a public place shooting in Sydney's north-west early last year.
About 1.40am on Sunday 23 January 2022, emergency services responded to reports of a number of shots being fired into a home on Wattle Avenue, North St Marys. A woman and six children who were home at the time were uninjured.
Officers from Nepean Police Area Command secured a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the matter under Strike Force Gange.
About 2pm that day two firearms were located in bushland at Oakhurst.
The firearms underwent forensic examination where it was established that one of them had been used in the shooting at Wattle Avenue.
As inquiries continue police have released CCTV footage of a vehicle described as being a white sedan seen driving along south Wattle Avenue shortly after the shooting.
The shooting is believed to be a targeted attack.
It is believed that the occupants of the vehicle maybe able to assist in the investigation.
Police are urging anyone who may have knowledge of the vehicle or firearms to contact Mt Druitt Detectives or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
