Serious Crime Detectives are investigating an incident that occurred in Darwin City overnight near the corner of Smith and Whitfield Streets.
Just prior to 7:30pm, police received a report of a male with a suspected stab wound to his head following an altercation with another male.
St John Ambulance conveyed the man to the Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.
