Police are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man who may be able to assist with investigations into robbery and stealing offences in South Brisbane in February.
The first incident occurred at an Ipswich Road, Annerley service station on Sunday February 20 around 3.30am, where the man attempted to steal a vehicle before assaulting its occupant several times, striking him in the face.
The victim sought refuge within the store, with the man giving chase. He then jumped the counter and stole a quantity of cigarettes, before fleeing on foot southbound on Ipswich Road.
The second incident occurred two days later on Tuesday February 22 around 1pm at a Grey Street, South Brisbane business where it is believed the same man pushed his way to the front of shop queue before stealing a quantity of cigarettes and fleeing on foot.
The man is described as approximately 180cm tall, aged in his twenties and of Pacific Islander appearance with a heavy build. He has black curly hair with a black moustache and goatee beard. Detectives are appealing for community members who know the man to come forward with information, anonymous reports can be made.
