Police Seek Information: Serious Assault, Stones Corner

Police have released CCTV of a man who may be able to assist police with their enquiries into the serious assault of an infant at a park in Stones Corner on August 27.

Initial investigations indicate a 9-month-old baby boy was with family at Hanlon Park around midday, when a man not known to the group approached them and poured a hot liquid onto the child, before leaving the scene.

Emergency crews were called, and the young boy was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

The Child Protection and Investigation Unit is investigating.

CCTV shows a man running from the incident location shortly afterwards.

He is described as around 30 to 40-years-old, of a proportionate build, with tanned skin.

He was wearing a black hat, glasses, a shirt and shorts.

Anyone who recognises the man, or who has any information that can assist investigations, is urged to contact police.
