Detectives have released CCTV in an ongoing appeal for information following the suspicious death of a 67-year-old Mackay man earlier this month.
John Patrick Hackett was located at his unit on Gold Street at Mackay around 7.18pm on Saturday, November 9 following a welfare check by family members.
A crime scene was declared, and police have launched a homicide investigation after receiving additional information including results from a post mortem examination indicating evidence of an assault.
An Investigation Centre has been established under Operation Whiskey Glen.
Investigators have released vision of John Patrick Hackett at a Goldsmith Street grocery store on November 5.
Officers would like to speak to anyone who may have observed any interaction or altercation between John Patrick Hackett and another person on the afternoon or evening Tuesday November 5.
Any person or vehicle traveling within the vicinity of Gold Street in Mackay between 5pm and 7pm on November 5 who may have witnessed the man or has dashcam footage is urged to come forward.
