Police Seek Information: Traffic Crash, Wacol

The Forensic Crash Unit is appealing for witnesses following a traffic crash in Wacol yesterday, July 22.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 11.50am, a white 2002 Toyota Hilux utility was travelling east along the Ipswich Motorway near Wacol Station Road when it struck a concrete barrier before veering across four lanes of traffic.

The vehicle then struck a grey Toyota Prado before crashing into the centre concrete barrier.

The driver of the Toyota Hilux, a 57-year-old Birkdale man, and passenger, a 65-year-old Inala man, were transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.

The occupants of the Toyota Prado sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Witnesses, particularly anyone with dashcam vision or CCTV from the area at the time of the incident, are urged to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.
