Police Seek Leads in Eden Bushfire Investigation

South Coast police are appealing for information following a suspicious bushfire near Eden earlier this week.

About 12pm Wednesday 16 October 2024, emergency services were called to the intersection of Princes Highway and Hardakers Road, Broadwater – about 8km north of Eden – following reports of a bushfire.

A small area of bushland was burnt before the blaze was extinguished by the NSW Rural Fire Service.

No injuries were reported.

Officers attached to South Coast Police District are investigating the circumstances surrounding the fire and are treating the blaze as suspicious.

As investigations continue, police are urging anyone with dashcam vision of the Princes Highway at the time of the incident or information about the incident to contact South Coast Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
