Police Seek Leads in Farhad Jamal Disappearance

Missing Persons Squad detectives are seeking public assistance as part of their investigation into the 2009 disappearance of Reservoir man, Farhad Jamal.

The then 36-year-old was last seen in a supermarket on Market Street in South Melbourne on Tuesday, 28 April 2009.

It is not known what he was wearing at the time.

Farhad was known to frequent the Reservoir, Dandenong and Port Melbourne areas and was an amateur boxer associated to various gyms in Melbourne's northern suburbs.

He was well known within the Melbourne Afghan community, and also associated with some known criminal identities.

Investigators are of the belief that he has met with foul play.

There have been no further sightings of Farhad since April 2009 and his bank accounts have not been accessed.

Police have released an image of Farhad in the hope someone recognises him and can provide any information on his movements prior to his disappearance.

Farhad was reported missing by his family in 2021 to the Missing Persons Squad, who have made a number of enquiries in relation to his disappearance since then.
