Police Seek Leads in Orange Assault, Kidnapping

Police are appealing for information following an alleged assault and kidnapping in the state's central west last month.

About 1.30am on Thursday 15 May 2025, a man was sitting inside his blue MG sedan on Maxwell Avenue, Orange, when he was approached by three men.

Police were told the group threatened the man with a knife before they assaulted him and forced him in the back seat of the car.

The group entered the car and drove towards Wellington on Burrendong Way, before forcing the man to exit the car at Euchareena and driving off.

The 54-year-old man contacted emergency services and was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transported to Orange Health service for further treatment. He has since recovered.

About 6am, the same day, emergency services were called to Nanima Mission, Wellington, following reports of the MG well alight.

NSW Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze; however it was destroyed.

Officers attached to Central West Police District have commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incidents under Strike Force Collingwood.
