Police Seek Leads on Alice Springs Burglaries

Northern Territory Police are investigating two unlawful entries at hotels over the weekend.

At about 5:00am on Sunday, four males unlawfully entered a hotel room while the occupant was asleep, stealing alcohol and personal belongings. Shortly after, the same group allegedly unlawfully entered an occupied room at another nearby hotel. One of the offenders was reportedly armed with a machete during the second incident.

The males stole two bags and fled the scene, running towards the nearby golf course. Despite being pursued by security personnel, the offenders managed to escape.

General Duties police officers attended both scenes, securing the area as a crime scene. The occupant of the second room was relocated for their safety. One of the stolen bags was recovered nearby.

Anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who may have information is urged to contact Police on 131 444, or report anonymously via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
