Police Seek Man After Assault, Robbery On Public Transport

Police are appealing for public assistance to identify a man following an alleged assault on a train in Sydney's north.

About 9:45pm yesterday (20 August 2024), a 42-year-old man and his 10-year-old son were travelling on a train between Hornsby and Central.

As the train approached Lindfield Station, the man was approached by an unidentified male who allegedly assaulted him and stole cash.

The man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital for treatment for facial injuries. His son wasn't injured.

Officers attached to the Police Transport Command North Central would like to speak to a man described as aged in his 30's, Caucasian appearance and unshaven.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, blue shorts with white socks, black shoes and a blue cap.

Anyone with information into his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to call Triple Zero (000) immediately.
