Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a teenage girl missing from the New England area.
Claire Ryan, aged 16, was last seen about 1.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 1 January 2025), at Mole River, about 40km west of Tenterfield.
When she could not be located or contacted, officers attached to the New England Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into her whereabouts.
Police and family hold concerns for Claire's welfare due to her disappearance being out of character.
She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 172cm tall, slim build, with long brown hair, blue eyes and a freckled complexion.
She was last seen wearing a grey Akubra hat, possibly a pink shirt with a black and white skirt, and carrying a pink backpack.
Claire has ties to the Tenterfield, Mingoola, Texas and Brisbane areas.
