Police Seek Reckless Frontend Loader Driver in Myrleford

Police are investigating after a frontend loader was deliberately driven into a car in Myrtleford on Friday, 20 September.

Officers have been told a woman's Holden Captiva was damaged when a man known to her drove the excavator through her front yard and into her vehicle at Mummery Road about 12.35pm.

The front-end loader was then seen driving erratically in the Myrtleford area before it stopped at Myrtle Street and the male occupant stole a carton of beer from a supermarket.

Investigators believe the yellow Caterpillar vehicle with registration XV3 0NH was stolen from Merriang South overnight.

Anyone who sees the vehicle is urged to call Triple-Zero (000) immediately.

Investigators have released images of the frontend loader in the hope someone recognises the vehicle.

Anyone who witnessed the initial incident, any subsequent reckless driving, or has CCTV, dashcam footage or any other information that could assist police is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a confidential report online at www.crimestoppersvic.com.au
