Police Seek Tips on Alice Springs Serious Harm Case

Northern Territory Police are calling for information after a serious harm incident occurred in Alice Springs yesterday.

Around 2.45pm, the Joint Emergency Services Communication Centre received a report that a male taxi driver had been assaulted at the Alice Springs Airport by a male unknown to him.

At 1.15pm the victim and the unknown male driver had arrived at the airport pick up / drop off zone when an altercation occurred between the two, during which the taxi driver has allegedly been pushed to the ground.

The victim conveyed himself to hospital where it was confirmed he suffered a fractured hip and required emergency surgery.

The offender remains outstanding and is believed to be driving a silver Mitsubishi wagon with South Australian number plates.

Police are investigating and urge anyone who witnessed the incident, or with dash cam footage from the area, to make contact on 131 444 and quote reference P24210630.
