Police Seek Tips on Coopers Plains Fatal Crash

Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal single-vehicle traffic crash in Coopers Plains this morning.

Initial information indicates a Mitsubishi Lancer struck a pedestrian on the footpath near the intersection of Kessels and Riawena roads around 4.50am.

The driver and sole occupant, a 19-year-old Tingalpa man, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The pedestrian, a woman in her 30s, sustained critical injuries and was declared deceased at the scene.

Three vehicles, believed to be a sedan and two utilities, were travelling behind the Mitsubishi Lancer along Kessels Road shortly before the crash.

Investigators are appealing for the drivers to contact police.

Forensic Crash Unit is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
