Police are appealing for information following a fatal stabbing in Sydney's west.
About 1.45pm yesterday (Saturday 20 July 2024), emergency services were called to Bangor Street, Guildford following reports of an assault.
About 2.15pm, officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were called to Westmead Hospital, after reports a man had presented with stab wounds in the abdomen.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the incident.
The 37-year-old underwent surgery, however died at 5:36pm.
Police have been told the man was walking with a friend along Bangor Street, Guildford, when the pair were approached and assaulted by a group of men, before the 37-year-old was driven to Westmead Hospital by an associate.
As inquiries continue, police are urging anyone who may have information, dashcam footage from the area, or who may have witnessed the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
