Police Seek Tips on Violent Theft in Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information in relation to a stealing with violence incident that occurred overnight in Alice Springs.

Between 9.30pm - 10.00pm, a 26-year-old female was walking back to her accommodation after work on Gap Road when she was approached by up to five female youths. Two of the youths allegedly assaulted her, causing her to fall to the ground and resulting in her phone being broken. The offenders allegedly stole her bag containing various personal items and fled the scene.

A short time later one of the youths allegedly came back to the victim to return some of her items. The victim's bank card was allegedly subsequently used to purchase food at a nearby restaurant.

The victim did not require medical treatment.

Strike Force Viper are continuing to investigate the incident.
