Wyndham Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance after a man was stabbed during a suspected road rage altercation in Tarneit this afternoon.
It is understood the victim was driving along Sayers Road about 12.15pm, when an unknown vehicle cut him off.
The victim, who was driving a Grey Nissan Altima, and the unknown vehicle, thought to be a blue sedan, both pulled over to the side of the road.
Officers have been told both drivers exited their vehicles, before the unknown male driver stabbed the victim in the stomach.
The 30-year-old Hoppers Crossing man managed to drive himself to a nearby medical facility and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, along with anyone who might have dash cam footage.
