Police Seek Witnesses in Burleigh Heads Assault

Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) are appealing for witnesses following a grievous bodily harm incident in Burleigh Heads on Friday, August 2.

Emergency services were called to the Goodwin Terrace venue at approximately 10pm to reports of an altercation between a group of six (four men and two woman) people and a family of five.

It is understood the disturbance occurred in the area between Burleigh Pavilion and the Burleigh Heads Surf Life Saving Club.

Upon arrival, a 53-year-old Victorian man was located with multiple facial injuries, and was transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital for surgery.

The two groups were not known to each other.

Police are appealing to witnesses, particularly anyone with mobile phone footage, to immediately come forward.

Investigations are continuing.
