Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to a serious assault which occurred near Casuarina Beach overnight.
Around 7:00pm last night, a 28-year-old female was allegedly assaulted by a group of men at the location. The woman managed to escape following the assault and was located by a passer-by on a nearby road. The men fled from the scene in two vehicles, one of the vehicles is believed to be a medium sized rigid truck, white in colour. The woman was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital and is receiving treatment for her injuries.
Detective Sergeant Gavin Hopwood said, "We are aware that there were a number of people in the area at the time of the assault. We request that anyone who was in the area between 6:00pm and 9:00pm contact police as they may have information that will assist with this investigation."
