Police Seek Witnesses To Balaclava Incident

Police are investigating a report of racially motivated offensive behaviour in Balaclava on 13 December.

Police have been told two men were approached by an unknown man who shouted offensive comments before performing a Nazi salute on Carlisle Street just before 8pm.

The man then walked east along Carlisle Street then north along Hotham Street.

Police have released an image of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described to be Caucasian, aged in his 20s with short red hair.

He was wearing a bright yellow and black windcheater with a red t-shirt underneath, fawn work shorts and fawn work boots.

Victoria Police take any reports of racial, political or religiously motivated crimes seriously and are committed to doing everything we can to hold those responsible to account.
