Police Seek Witnesses To Footscray Hit-run

Westgate Highway Patrol officers are appealing for public assistance following a hit-run in Footscray yesterday afternoon.

Police were called to the intersection of Barkley Street and Droop Street following reports a pedestrian had been hit by a car whilst crossing the road about 3pm.

It is believed the driver of a 2023 Audi Q3 silver wagon with registration 1YJ7DI drove through a red light before hitting the man and fleeing the scene.

A 46-year-old Maribyrnong man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Investigators have released an image of the Audi along with CCTV of the incident in the hope that the driver can be identified.

It is believed the Audi may have also sustained significant damage to the front windscreen.
