Police Seek Witnesses To Sexual Assault In Collingwood

Detectives from the Melbourne Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team have released a computer-generated image of a man they are looking to speak to in relation to a sexual assault in Collingwood earlier this year.

Investigators have been told a 22-year-old man was walking along the footpath on Smith Street, on Saturday, 1 June between 9 and 9.15pm when he was approached by a male offender who sexually assaulted him before fleeing.

The New South Wales man was not physically injured during the incident.

The offender is perceived to be Caucasian and in his early 30's with a dark beard and wearing a motorbike helmet.

Investigators are today issuing an image of an unidentified man they wish to speak to as part of the investigation who may be able to assist with their enquiries.
