Police seize large cannabis crop worth almost $5,500,000 in Colinroobie

Police from Strike Force Elkmont – Griffith Local Area Command in conjunction with Strike force Hyperion – SCC Drug Squad have uncovered almost $5,500,000 worth of cannabis following a crime scene warrant at a farm in Colinroobie of the Riverina in southern NSW, NSW Police say.

About 11.30am today, strike force officers executed a crime scene warrant at a farm on Males Road, Colinroobie.

During the search, officers and seized located in excess of 2,500 cannabis plants, two shot guns, two rifles, ammunition and a sum of cash.

The estimated potential street value of the cannabis is $5,500,000.

A 47-year-old man, a 54-year-old man and an 80-year-old man were arrested at the farm.

They were all taken to Griffith Police Station where they were charged with cultivate large commercial quantity of prohibited plants.

All men were refused bail to appear at Griffith Local Court tomorrow.
