Police have charged a man with drug trafficking after four search warrants were executed across Sydney’s Inner West, NSW Police say.
Officers attached to Burwood Proactive Crime Team stopped a Subaru Liberty on Woodward Avenue, Strathfield, about 11.30am on Thursday yesterday, and spoke to the driver, a 23-year-old man.
Following inquiries, police from Burwood, Flemington and Ashfield Local Area Commands, with assistance from South West Metro Region Enforcement Squad (RES), and Public and Order Riot Squad (PORS), executed three search warrants at South Street and Torrington Road, Strathfield, and Beronga Street, North Strathfield.
Police allegedly located and seized more than 500 cannabis plants from the three locations.
A search was also conducted by police at a premises on King Street, Canterbury, where it will be alleged police located and seized $44,000 cash.
The 23-year-old man was arrested, following the vehicle stop, and taken to Burwood Police Station where he was charged with three counts of cultivate prohibited plant by enhanced indoor means and dealing with property suspected of being proceeds of crime.
He was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
