Police Treating Fire As Suspicious In Wagga Wagga

An investigation continues following a suspicious fire in the state's south earlier this month.

About 11pm Monday 20 January 2025, emergency services were called to a two-storey business on the corner of Fitzmaurice and Kincaid streets, Wagga Wagga, following reports of a fire.

Fire and Rescue NSW responded and extinguished the blaze. The building sustained smoke and water damage.

Police established a crime scene and investigation commenced into the cause of the fire, which was treated as suspicious.

Following inquiries, officers from Riverina Police District spoke to a 13-year-old girl at Wagga Wagga Police Station about 5.30pm on Friday 24 January 2025.

The teenager was dealt with under the Young Offenders Act.

A second teenager has been spoken to be police and inquiries are continuing.
