Police Treating Fires As Suspicious, New Norfolk

Police are investigating two suspicious fires in New Norfolk area yesterday.

Emergency services were called to a structure fire at the old racecourse on Kensington Street about 7:30am.

The building, which was vacant at the time, was significantly damaged.

Police and Tasmania Fire Service were then called to another structure fire at the Derwent Valley Men's Shed about 8pm, with the damage contained by firefighters.

The cause of both fires is currently under investigation, but police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the fires, or anyone acting suspiciously in the areas at the time of the incidents.
