Police Uncover Cannabis In Locked Box

A Queensland man was arrested for drug trafficking after police allegedly located about 10 kilograms of cannabis in a vehicle in the city yesterday.

Just after 2pm on Tuesday 27 August, police stopped a grey MG4 Excite hire car on War Memorial Drive, Adelaide, near the Adelaide Oval.

The driver, a 53-year-old Queensland man, was arrested for an outstanding warrant and driving while suspended.

A search of the vehicle allegedly revealed a locked metal toolbox containing about 10 kilograms of vacuum-sealed cannabis.

The man was further charged with trafficking in a controlled drug.

He was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 28 August.
