Sunshine Coast detectives are investigating four bush fires in the past two weeks, that officers are treating the cause as suspicious.
Initial investigations indicate a fire at Beerwah on Sunday, October 29 was deliberately lit near Stokes Road around 10.30am.
Further, officers are investigating whether another fire in the Beerwah/Landsborough area on October 28 was also deliberately lit near a forestry clearing on Dianella Road and Roys Road, Beewah around 1pm.
This fire caused police to issue a Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) later that night.
Steve Irwin Way was closed between Beerburrum and Landsborough from that emergency declaration.
The emergency zone encompassed Steve Irwan Way, Hardwood Road, Forestry Road and Dianella Road
Officers are also investigating whether a grass fire was sparked on Sattler Road in Meridan Plains earlier last week, on October 23, just before 9pm, after an offender tried to gain entry to a business by cutting the locks to a fence.
The building was destroyed by fire , however emergency crews managed to contain the fire to that building and a small, grassed area nearby.
And lastly, officers are treating a bushfire in Beerwah on October 21 as suspicious. It's believed that fire started around 2pm near Roys Road.
Investigations are continuing into all the fires. Anyone with information is being urged to contact police.
