Police Update 1: Missing Woman, Whitsundays

Police are continuing to appeal for public assistance to locate a 40-year-old woman reported missing on June 1 from the Whitsundays area.

Celeste McGain (pictured) was last seen on Paluma Road in Woodwark at approximately 2pm on Saturday, May 25.

She has not been seen or heard from since.

Police have released a recent CCTV image of Celeste at an employment agency in Cannonvale on Tuesday, May 7.

Family and friends hold concerns for her welfare as her disappearance is out of character.

Celeste is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall with brown eyes and brown, curly hair.

She was last seen wearing a blue skirt and white shirt.

While her whereabouts are unknown, police believe Celeste could be in the northern New South Wales area.

Residents within Paluma Road and Pringle Road, and surrounding areas, are urged to review their CCTV or dashcam footage from May 24, and to check their properties.

Police urge Celeste, or anyone with information about her whereabouts, to come forward immediately.
