Police have charged a 43-year-old Alexandra Hills man following a police-involved shooting incident at Rochedale in December 2024.
On December 30, police were called to a business on Brickworks Place following reports of a disturbance around 5:45am.
It will be alleged the man had driven his car into a business and, while armed with a knife, made verbal threats towards staff.
Officers allege they located the armed man inside the warehouse, and he advanced on police whilst making threats.
Responding police deployed a taser; however, it was ineffective, and as the man continued to advance on police, they discharged one shot, which struck the man.
Medical assistance was immediately rendered.
The man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital for treatment and has since recovered.
No police officers or members of the public were injured during the incident.
The man has since been charged with eight counts of threaten violence, two counts each of dangerous operation of motor vehicle and wilful damage, and one count each of enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and serious assault of a police officer while armed.
The man was remanded in custody and is expected to appear before Brisbane Magistrates Court on February 10.
The incident is the subject of an ongoing investigation by QPS Ethical Standards Command, which is overseen by the Crime and Corruption Commission.
