Police Update 2: Loganlea Hit-and-run

Officers from the Forensic Crash Unit (FCU) are appealing for public assistance following their investigations into a hit-and-run crash involving an unregistered trail bike and a pedestrian at Springwood on February 18, 2025.

It will be alleged that around 5.40pm, an orange unregistered trail bike was travelling north on Kingston Road when it collided with a pedestrian at the intersection of Kingston Road and Battle Street. It will be further alleged that the rider failed to remain at the scene.

The pedestrian, a 25-year-old Kingston man, sustained serious life-threatening injuries and was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital.

On February 20, police charged a 21-year-old man with multiple offences, including dangerous operation of a vehicle causing grievous bodily harm and left scene of incident without obtaining help, unlicensed driving, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, and unregistered and uninsured vehicle.

As part of ongoing investigations, police are seeking to locate the person who published a video moments after the incident to a social media page in Moreton. Investigators believe the individual may have information vital to the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage, or can assist in identifying the person who uploaded the video is urged to contact police.
