Police Update 2: Missing Woman, Whitsundays

Detectives have released vision of missing 40-year-old woman Celeste McGain, who was reported missing on June 1 from the Whitsundays area.

Celeste McGain (pictured) was last seen on Paluma Road in Woodwark at approximately 2pm on Saturday, May 25.

Investigators believe Celeste may have been attempting to hitchhike and are appealing for anyone who sighted a small green 'beachy' 4WD vehicle in the vicinity of Shute Harbour Road, Cannonvale between May 25 and June 1 to come forward.

Anyone who may have picked up a hitchhiker, or has dashcam vision of CCTV from the area, is urged to contact police.

Celeste is described as Caucasian, approximately 175cm tall with brown eyes and brown, curly hair.

She was last seen wearing a blue skirt and white shirt.

CCTV released depicts Celeste at an employment agency in Cannonvale on Tuesday, May 7.

Investigations are continuing.
