Police have charged a man following investigations into the alleged murder of a person in Geham this morning, April 15.
About 2.50am, emergency services were called to a fire at a residence on Strack Road.
Upon arrival, police located the residence fully engulfed in flames.
Once the fire was able to be extinguished, an initial examination of the scene located the body of one deceased person, however formal identification of the remains is ongoing.
Operation X-Ray Geo has been established and involves detectives from the Toowoomba Criminal Investigation Branch and the Homicide Investigation Unit.
A 45-year-old Geham man has been charged with one count each of murder domestic violence offence and arson.
He is expected to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow, April 16.
Investigations are ongoing.
