A 17-year-old boy has been charged in relation to a fatal traffic crash at Kelso in October this year.
On October 30 at about 4am police were called to Dartmoor Drive and Dunlop Street after a man was struck by a vehicle.
The 34-year-old Kelso man was transported to Townsville University Hospital in a critical condition however later passed away as a result of his injuries.
The boy who was allegedly driving the vehicle and two female passengers were not physically injured.
Following an investigation by the Forensic Crash Unit, a 17-year old Black River boy has since been charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance, mid-range drink driving, late night driving of peer passengers and driving a defective vehicle.
He is expected to appear before Townsville Childrens Court at a later date.
