A 63-year-old woman who was injured in a serious traffic crash in Boyland on August 23 has sadly passed away in hospital.
Preliminary investigations indicate that around 12.20pm, a Toyota Hilux carrying a trampoline was travelling west along Mundoolun Connection Road, when parts of the trampoline fell off the vehicle.
The parts collided with a Hyundai travelling in the opposite direction to the Hilux, resulting in a 31-year-old female driver sustaining minor head injuries.
The trampoline's parts then continued and collided with a Toyota Rav4, driven by a 63-year-old woman - who sustained life-threatening head injuries.
The 39-year-old male driver of the Hilux was treated by paramedics at the scene and did not require transportation to hospital.
The 63-year-old Garbutt woman was airlifted to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, where she passed away yesterday evening.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
